Rafael Fuentes
LUTHIER
Rafael Fuentes Cuesta was born in Valladolid. He has got a degree in electronic engineering from the Escuela Universitaria Politécnica of Valladolid, and he is a self-taught guitarist.
Rafael has learned about classical and electric guitar manufacturing under the teaching of Marco Buitano, a Chilean manufacturer. He also was taught by José Luis Romanillos about the manufacturing of the Spanish classical guitar, following the style of manufacturers Antonio de Torres, Santos Hernández or Manuel Ramírez.
Today, he performs his classical and flamenco guitars’ manufacturing work in the city of Valladolid, in Spain, combining traditional methods with others that are more innovative
This includes, on the one hand, the analysis of the pshysical and mechanical parameters that take part in the creation of sounds and, on the other hand, the experimentation of said methods.
