Rafael Fuentes Cuesta was born in Valladolid (Spain) and is an electronic engineer and self taught guitar player. He was raised in a family in which two of his siblings studied classical guitar.
Rafael has always spent much of his free time playing the guitar and researching sound amplification and modulation.
After working on several jobs as an engineer, he decided to launch into guitarmaking. His decision was aided and supported by his guitarristic experience, his knowledge of physics and acoustics and the assistance of his brother, José María, who graduated in Classical Guitar and Musicology.
Rafael studied classical and electric guitar construction with the Chilean guitarmaker Marco Buitano; and received advice from José Luis Romanillos about traditional guitarmaking in the style of Antonio de Torres, Santos Hernández and Manuel Ramírez.
